Smith earned his Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Business and Economics in 1992 from Auburn University. In 1994, 他在奥本大学获得教育学硕士学位，随后在阿拉巴马大学获得教育领导硕士学位.
Smith started his career as an agriscience teacher at 霍克斯布拉夫高中, where he worked for 11 years before opening his own construction and cabinet making company. Dr. 乔伊的战斗 is the chief academic officer for all of the Health Science programs. He develops and administers the programs instructional budget, provides innovative and strategic visionary leadership and supervises program directors. Battles has served in several health education roles throughout his career. 最近, he was the director of the 射线照相法 Program at Gadsden State since August 2021. He has also worked as the program director of the Medical Imaging Program at Clarkson College; the associate director of the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology; and the director of educational eligibility requirements at the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
